The Television Series Star Trek Premiered 49 Years Ago Today

It’s so hard to believe that Star Trek premiered 49 year ago today. It was a hot day in Houston. My sister Marianna and I watched the show together on a small portable television in her bedroom. The first episode was about a shape-shifting creature that killed humans for their blood. It was good then and good now. What a genius Gene Roddenberry was. He went from being a Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer to a master of science fiction. He has touched so many lives around the world.
